The Realistic Mathematics is emphasize for construction of the context of concrete objects as a starting point for students to getting  mathematical concepts. The concrete objects and objects in around us can be used as a context for learning mathematics in building the relevance of mathematics through social interaction. The concrete objects is manipulated by students in the framework to support the students’s efforts in the mathematical process from concrete mathematics to abstract mathematics. Students should be given opportunities to construct and produce mathematics in their own way and language.

There are two kinds of mathematical process : (1) the horizontal mathematical process and
(2) the vertical mathematical process. Horizontal mathematical process is a process from the real world into the mathematical symbols. The process occurs in students when they found the problem in the life / real situations. While a vertical mathematical process occur in the mathematical system itself, for example, discovery the strategy to solve the problem, to match the mathematical concepts and applying the formula or formulas findings.

From the side of teachers, it is about how  the teachers' efforts to obtain the idea about concrete objects and the objects around us that can used as a context for learning mathematics in making connections mathematics through social interaction. Assessment and analysis of learning mathematics that have been recorded into the video tape recorder (VTR) is one of the way or that can be do by the teacher. Through the VTR, the teachers hoped to be able to learn how to:
1.      make the preparation of  teaching and learning process in mathematics at junior high school in according to the principles of  Realistic Mathematics Education in Indonesia (RMEI)
2.      develop learning resources for teaching and learning process in mathematics at junior high school in according to the principles of  RMEI
3.      develop the assessment activities for teaching and learning process in mathematics at junior high school in according to the principles of  RMEI
4.      implement the teaching-learning process in mathematics at junior high school in according to the principles of  RMEI

VTR (Video Tape Recorder) for teacher education and reform movement in Mathematics Education, specifically for developing lesson study has some benefits as: a) short summary of the lesson with emphasis on the major problems in the lesson, b) components of the lesson and main events in the class, and, c) possible issues for discussion and reflection with teachers observing the lesson. By doing the observations and analysis the VTR on learning mathematics, which has recorded by the teacher who has implemented the learning of mathematics with a realistic approach, so the other teacher can try and find alternative way to develop the concepts or ideas about concrete objects and the object around us that can be used as a context for learning mathematics through the social interaction.
